That's really nice-esp on that strap.
I had one of the earlier versions a few years back.

Nothing wrong with that one, I am a fan of the style myself.

With the date window removed, this watch is genuinely erection-inducing.

I recently picked up the Glycine Combat AM field watch. It has a cleaner dial IMO, protected crown, hesalite crystal, ETA auto. And $200 cheaper.

Also, not a big fan of the faux vintage lume on the Hammy.

Prefer the Glycine. The Hamilton is a nicer size but haven't they banned smegma-coloured lume yet?

If it's pre-Lalo Glycine, I like it. Otherwise, frankly, I'm not fond of the products of companies with Panamanian parvenue spunk all over them.

I like the way they did the lume on this one. Makes the design look somewhat warmer.

I Like them both. Don't care for the COMBAT on the Glycine dial, or any dial for that mater.

Must not be military watches.

Telling time on a 24 hour scale is taught on day-one in basic training/AOCS/Academy, no need for the 24 hour markings.

Tell that to the Ordnance Corps (formerly the Ordnance Department). Here's the MIL-W-3818B specification...

It's pre Invicta. The post Invicta Combats are 1mm bigger and have a date window; restrained, given the vigorous rapeage that could have ensued.

Did the Ordnance Corp go through BASIC training?

A watch "complication" unneeded by 99% of military members.

Suppose the remaining 1% could be a little slow................................ and they will fulfill their vital military service handing out basketballs & shower towels at the base gym.

Ordnance Corp means Army, so there you have it. I agree this watch would look better without the additional hour markings, even though it apparently wouldn't meet the mil specs.

Why would the military be any different from the rest of society in terms of the percentage of morons in it? Having a baboon wear a uniform won't make said baboon another Einstein. It's better to take precautions, then. Military equipment needs to be allproof, foolproof included. Besides, what's useless to one, might be useful to another. Doesn't cost more, doesn't make the watch any less useful, and the 24h scale on a 12h time-only watch dates back to the late 19th century pocket watches. It likely made its way to military wristwatches from railroad-spec PWs.

Just wondering why the USMC use this Marathon 24 hour dial then.

viewtopic.php?style=1&f=29&t=38771

Or did they mostly hand out utilities in the gym/shower?

Well it would seem the spec writers for the watches are leaving out 50% of the 1%ers (or .5% of the military as it were).

How about these members that have difficult time reading minutes? I mean, WTF, no 1-60 numeral minute markers??
Making a 1450 hours muster could be difficult for them.

I like the Hamilton, Rusty, cripes, I am an admirer of most of the Khaki line, tho I only own one of them. I'd wear that one for sure.
