Panerai Releases A Trio of Green Dialed Beauties

Panerai Releases A Trio of Green Dialed Beauties

Postby Racer-X » August 31st 2017, 3:59pm

by Contributor "If you know me personally or pay attention to my posts it’s quite easy to note that I have a “thing” for blue dials on watches. So I was very happy when Officine Panerai released their blue dial collection a little over a year ago featuring some amazing limited pieces. Following this successful release and one of my favorite modern pieces, the PAM690, Panerai has decided to release a trio of beautiful green dialed watches. The green dial collection is made up of the PAM735 45mm Radiomir 8 Days Titanio, the PAM736 47mm Radiomir 1940 3 Day Acciaio, and the PAM37 44mm Luminor 1950 Chrono Monopulsante GMT Titanio."

Not really a fan of green dials but that shade isn't bad at all.

I like 'em, too. The green is an interesting and tasteful colourway, perfect for the Zeitgeist of our time.

Orient put out a Somes collaboration in it's first generation under their Star line if you like the "colourway". That is if you can find one and can't/don't want to drop Panerai money.

Just putting that out there...

I was being ironic, Andrew. BTW, that OS gives me a pretty large, ropey boner.

I'm no big fan of the brand - some of their watches are nice (especially the ones closest to the original 1930s-1940s models), they've got a few ghastly ones as well, and some of them just are. Guess I'm ambivalent about Panerai. At least in terms of design, as the quality and the technical side of it are impeccable.

With that dial colour, these go into the "ghastly" category. Not that green doesn't serve some watches well, only not these particular watches.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

That is the Somes I would want (if I could afford it).
