James Bond Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 'Commander's Watch' LE

Postby Racer-X » July 5th 2017, 9:11pm

by Jack Forster "It's not a detail that perhaps most fans of Daniel Craig's James Bond will necessarily know, but Bond, historically, has often been portrayed as holding the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy. The literary Bond's full title would be Commander James Bond, CMG, RNVR; RNVR is for Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve and CMG refers to his membership in the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George (that he is a Companion of the Order is mentioned in the novel From Russia With Love, in a dossier on Bond compiled by SPECTRE)."

Apart from the ghey-assed NATO, it's not bad. Of course, since it's from Omega, a replacement ghey-assed NATO would cost more than my Hyundai.

I'm starting to wonder if there is any limit to how into vulgar and pathetic Omega is prepared to go with these LE's

There is no limit, I'm afraid. Sadly, most (if not all!) 007 limited editions from Omega were over the top and cheesy at best.

This one... Well, it wouldn't be a bad-looking watch, if not for the 007 logo on the counterweight of the second hand.

And frankly, I'd understand if they released an LE upon a new Bond movie premiere, but just like that, out of nowhere? FFS. Given the popularity of Omega's Baselworld 2017 releases, they have apparently no real reason for milking the Bond cash cow at the moment... On second thoughts, maybe they do- it's a cash cow, after all.

Ghey? Not necessarily. Think of all those poor perfectionists, whose OCD would drive them mad, if it didn't match.

I have OCD. I don't tend to match clothes to my watches. Clothes to shoe color is another story.
