First female watchmaker accredited by Omega

Postby koimaster » June 9th 2016, 10:58am

Sarah-Jane King, one of nine watchmakers at Watchfinder & Co, has passed her Omega evaluation and is now the first independent female watchmaker to have been awarded the Omega qualification through the Swatch Group UK. We thought you Fashion Runway readers might want to know!

The accreditation coincided with the completion of Sarah’s Watchfinder watchmaking apprenticeship. She is the first fully accredited watchmaker to have undergone her training solely at Watchfinder and no where else, under the guidance of the amazing head watchmaker, former Rolex and Breitling Senior Watchmaker, Tony Williams.

Watchfinder’s service centre is the only independent UK base that holds certification for Omega, IWC, Panerai, Cartier and Audemars Piguet, so Sarah’s achievement is something to definitely be proud of. We congratulate her on the achievement.

Dang. It's nice to see that Omega's finally moved into the 1960s.

WTF. How can this only just have happened? Being a white male there is a ton of shit going down for others that I will never have to deal with.
