Hands-On – Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Double Retrograde

Hands-On – Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Double Retrograde

Postby Racer-X » April 21st 2017, 7:00pm

by Xavier Markl "Maurice Lacroix unveiled a new version of its Masterpiece Double Retrograde at Baselworld this year – and the watch has never looked so good. Here is a hands-on look at this tastefully executed facelift with a new clous de Paris dial that is definitely more modern and chic – and still with this great display, complex and legible at the same time."

In-house, certainly. ML is, as they were quite a few times already, economic with the truth in that respect. The layout, the diameter, the arrangement of the gear train and the slightly reworked balance cock give it away as a typical Unitas 6497 with two modules- one for automatic winding, and one for the complications. ML can pull off nice in-house movement, like in the Masterpiece Gravity, but they were cutting corners with this one.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

This looks suspiciously like a Sturhling Original.
