This was my father's OMEGA Seamaster automatic chronometer. He had wanted an Omega for as long as he could remember, and finally, in the summer of 1976, he picked one up and, quite literally, wore it for the rest of his life. Not long after he passed, I was going through some of his things, when I came across this watch. It will, quite literally, remain with me for the rest of my life. After that, who knows? In truth, we only borrow these things along the way, and when we go, well, hopefully, this watch will go to someone who can and will appreciate it for what it is...

That's a really stunning Seamaster De Ville, Mort! That dial looks just spotless - guess the "unishell" case protected it well for the last 5 decades.

For me, it's these two, in turns:

Two relics of the 1950s, both in excellent stainless steel cases, and with dials at which I could well stare for hours.

Great watch! One I want back. In Feb, 2009, these were $50 from MetroWatch on ebay. Bought one and sold it shortly after for nearly the same.

Early 1950s Enicar 17 Jewels manual wind. One of the thinner watches in my collection.
