Jacques Lemans auto chrono with ETA 7750 movement, all in an unusually-shaped case that I haven't seen a lot of over the years...

That's close, Thundy, though it's a bit thick 2-B-A tank, and although it might be considered a "cushion" type, the flat bottom and rounded off top (almost sounds like a description of Conjurer, doesn't it?) tend to negate this. Maybe it's a "tank-cushion," though that sounds like something Rommel would have sat on... :???:

Mort- I own several of these 23 jewel timepieces . They were readily available in their day. The Swiss manufactured movement or variations of it was used by Bulova for over 20 years. The movement is known for being robust and accurate. Because of the long production run NOS parts and donor watches are readily available. And in 1959, these sold for around $70 - not inexpensive in those days.
