Well done Mort. You captured an aspect of vintage watch collecting very well. That is, often there is a wonderful story /history that accompanies the watch.

Thank you for taking the time to pour your talents into the story as you have. And thanks for sharing a bit about what it's like to live through what you and so many other vets, as HC eluded to.

Just perfect, Mort. Just perfect!

Thanks so much, Loafmeister...Now I'm starting to wonder if I'm gonna be afraid to write a review after this'n. There are few things worse than trying to compete with yourself to try and out-do an earlier piece of writing. Again, thanks...

It is also very worth mentioning, that this movement was actually the true "El Primero" automatic chronograph to be distributed in 1969. Fuck the arrogant Swiss watch industry for denying that.

Indeed, that's one of the things I uncovered during my research; it seems that the 6139 was released just before its Swiss counterparts, something the Swiss have vigorously denied. I ultimately left that out of the review because I wanted to focus on the watch and the way it was there for my buddy, both during and after the Vietnam War. Danke für Ihren Besuch und das Lesen der Post, Herr Gerdy Hosen.

Thanks so much, Matt! As I said above, I was worried it might be a bit on the long side, so your feedback means a lot.

Beautiful watch, excellent history and very fine tribute to Ed.

Sounds like a lot of accolades but sometimes that's all that needs to be said.
