Saw the new Bulova Precisionist line today

Man, there are great looking, better then what I thought the seconds hand is so smooth, You would think it was a real automatic. Their 10 seconds accurate a yr. Depending on how much money I get for Christmas, I may get one? But I'm also think about getting this old pocket watch for a little less money, Don't know yet??? We shall see.

The new Bullies are pretty nice; I was looking at them the other day at my local Macys. A little too large for me, but the sweep-seconds hand is really cool.

I'm not a big fan of their introductory designs but the technology intrigues me. One model looks OK but most are too dressy and have little W/R.
I assume you saw them at Macys.
The weekend of Dec. 4,I believe ,they will have a promotion where the Bulovas will be 20% off plus another 25% for the promotion. That's what I heard today.
A couple of TZ members are obsessed with the Precisionist.

Yes they did, which always pisses me off when, they have sales on top of sales, because I never have the cash. When I told the women I didn't have the money, I would wait after Christmas she gave me a rude ass stair like OK what ever. I wanted to tell her off.

Lesson #3-Planning Ahead

Save and create a "watch fund' for situations like this. Bargains are everywhere and you need to be ready. It only takes a little planning and discipline.

She gave you a rude ass stairs?... your lucky day, I had a girlfriend years ago who worked in a watch AD store, unfortunately a single story building, no stairs and if I recall correctly... her ass was not rude at all.

I recall one of the watch website (Blue Dial?) had the Precisionists on sale for 50% off. Keep an eye out for these kinds of deals, which I doubt any of the department stores can match. Only schmucks pay retail.

Also, a good way to build up funds is through careful buying and selling of pieces of a collection, as you build it up. Lately, just about everything I've purchased has been funded by watches I've sold. I always lose money, but good watches, bought at a decent price (sometimes second-hand) will hold a certain amount of value, which garbage like the TV watches generally will not.

Not a bad looking watch. 46.5mm case size may be on the high side for some.

Your typical quartz watch is accurate to plus or minus 15 seconds a month, the Precisionist movement is accurate to plus or minus 10 seconds a year.

By adding a third prong to the typically two-pronged quartz crystal, Bulova created a torsional resonator. The result: a watch with eight times the vibration frequency of traditional quartz watches.

I like the technology, don't care for the designs so far.
