New Orient Seatech 469TI002 500m Diver

Postby conjurer » February 17th 2016, 11:14pm

From the land of Zita virus and the Olympics nobody is going to go to, because of the Zita virus, the first Orient diver rated to 500 meters:

Made of titanium, automatic, HEV, with a new name (Seatech.) The downsides:

--50mm case size
--Uses the ancient 469 movement (no hack or handwind)
--Comes in Nvicter-style yellow dive box
--Only available in Brazil

Street price appears to be around $1500, which means you can buy 1.75 OS300s.

At 50mm I won't even watch the video. Meh.

Orient testing the waters? Guilty by association.
Eye opener.

They're made in Brazil for the Brazilian market. Brazilian men like big watches. The usual 3 star is 38mm. Orient Brazil makes them at 44mm.

They may be big, but Orient ain't Invicta. The hands will stay attached, as will lume pips and indices. An Orient built 500m diver will not fog if someone showers in the next room. In the unlikely event that the warranty needs to be invoked, the matter will be handled professionally with an eye to customer satisfaction and retention.
Unlike Nvicter.

Yup. When you get a chance (and you're in the least interested), take a look at the Orient Brazilian market stuff. Most of it, frankly, I wouldn't want to be found dead in a ditch wearing, but interesting nonetheless.

If responding to my post, I was commenting on the general look/appearance of the watch and not the build quality.

Looks cheap.
Plus I didn't understand a word the reviewer said.

If that watch is for them? I'll buy two.

I'm still holding out for a model refresh on the Saturation diver. That would get me excited. This thing is pretty ugly, but intended for a market that likes watches like that so it is what it is.
