Undive watches

Postby koimaster » June 26th 2017, 4:24pm

Undive Watches is a new microbrand from Hong Kong. Founded in 2015, the company spent two years developing their first diving watch, which is now ready for production and waiting for your support on a crowd funding platform.

Undive Dark Sea 500m ticks a lot of boxes to be one of the most interesting microbrand dive watches in 2017. First of all, let’s talk about the design. Dark Sea 500m takes design cues from Seiko iconic divers, namely 6105. The shape of the case is hard to mistake with any another dive watch out there, and I’m happy that microbrands such as Undive can recognize it. Ultimately, I’m far more interested in seeing a dive watch that’s inspired by classic Seiko models than yet another Rolex Sub homage. At the same time, Dark Sea 500m it’s not a direct copy of Seiko 6105, it merely imitates the overall shape of the famous Seiko.

I agree but not really a bad looking watch name aside.

While the dial ain't bad, there's something off about the case. It doesn't look balanced, like they made the bezel too small or something.

Yes. That's exactly what I saw.

And don't forget the Seiko NH35 movement; for this Dead Man's money, that's an additional neato. And the name doesn't bug me; it rather reminds me of that hot actress from Dr. No, Arsula Undress...WOOF! ;)

Nope, tzimmy; that's actually the name of the accompanying wetsuit they're putting together... ;)
