Luminox Field Day-Date Automatic Watch -$349

A Field-Ready Auto in 2 Distinct Styles

Luminox is a fan favorite for a couple reasons: For one, the company developed the first Navy SEAL watch series in 1993; For another, the self-powered illumination system employed in its watches will last up to 25 years with no need for exterior power. The Field Day-Date is, of course, equipped with this innovative illumination, as well as a set of large and legible Arabic numerals to help you tell the time with just a glance. Inside of those numerals are others numbered 13 through 23 for military time. Armed with a stainless steel case, sapphire crystal, and leather strap, the Field Day-Date is strong enough for the commute or a day in the woods. Fueled by an ETA 2878 26-jewel automatic movement, the watch boasts a 44-hour power reserve and 100 meters of water resistance, to boot. Grab it with the more traditional silver case or go all black with the 1801.BO version.

Owned one the Colormark... not this particular model, but I never cared for Luminox very much.

Thats the official name from Luminox. Bought in 2002 and only on its second battery. Tubes are a little dim but never was a blazer like my Navy Seals edition.

I have a couple of older ones too. from back in the day when they were made of steel and not plastic. Alas, they too are soul-less.

I enjoy my Luminox much more now that I have it off the rubber strap. It's a good work watch.

Luminox Diver Professional owned since the early 2000s. Had to replace the 10 year battery, that's the only maintenance so far. Just a chunk of steel on the wrist.

Check out e-bay. Look for the reliable vendors that only sell authentic. Lots of new ones go to the highest bidder.

I have a dead Luminox with the 515. The movement crapped out and my watchmaker tells me these have a special high canon to accommodate the tubes. He didn't have a replacement and was unsure how to get one. I could send it in to Luminox but I am wondering even if it is worth the hassle.
