Pig's Nose

Pig's Nose is a blended Scotch and fairly cheap. I think I paid $35.00 for a bottle. Not bad, I like it, anyone here tried it?
I plan on having this around at all times. It's smooth and has a nice variety of flavors hitting the taste buds..... all of them good.

I've never heard of it, myself, but that's not too surprising. One night in college I had a run-in with a bottle Chivas Regal, and even today the smell of Scotch makes me hurl.

I had the same experience with Tango and still can't look at orange juice.

The scotch sounds worth a stab though!

As it says on the label - "...as soft and smooth as a pig's nose" - and it is. Very creditable stuff, Svaglic. Very creditable indeed. As far as blended Scotch, it has replaced The Famous Grouse at stately Falstaff Manor. A tad pricey, IMO, for a 5 year old, but a whole different animal (so to speak) than the Grouse, Johnny Red, J&B, Cutty or Dewar's.

Due to weekly games of Bob, I haven't been able to stand the sight of a bottle of scotch or tequila since my sophomore year in high school, uhhh college.

To some extent, I can understand that, Mr. Conjurer- whisky will do that to ya sometimes. I had "a glass too far" of whisky a few years ago...OK, quite a few glasses too far, to be honest. The culprit behind a temporary (unlike your case, not a permanent one) condition of finding the smell and taste of whisky vomit-inducing wasn't Scotch- it was Irish; Bushmills Black Bush, a blended whisky. Spicy as fuck, it felt as if my taste buds had a tete-a-tete with a flamethrower.

Back then, I have also been a smoker- true, that might well have been the reason behind a massive hangover, but then again, I never could actually drink whisky with no junk in it without smoking. It just had to be a cigarette, or a cigar. Nevertheless, it was the whisky, that gave me a trauma enough to switch from Lucky Strikes to Marlboro.
That's because every time I had a Lucky Strike, the taste buds were somehow recollecting the taste of what felt like an earthy note of peat, lurking from under the inferno that just burned the mouth like the combined might of jalapeno and napalm. And, of course, I didn't have a whisky for a few months. That, of course, was until a friend of mine brought a bottle, and, well, I've always been shit at refusing a drink with old friends - whether that's a curse or a virtue, I know not; what I know, is that after that, my hangover remains largely unimpressed by any traditional remedy until late afternoon.

Quit smoking last summer. Oddly enough, I still feel like needing a smoke when I have a whisky. Truth be told, Chivas Regal is my whisky of choice, when it comes to blended ones, but then again, having too much of any whisky can result in an aversion to whisky for life. Or at least for a while.

I'm on my third glass of Pig Nose right now. (I apologize now if I pull a MH on anyone later) I like it more today than yesterday, it really does have a variety of flavors that go down smooth. For a blended Scotch, I am surprised at how good it is. In fact, I like it better than a lot of single malts. I paid $35.00, but have looked online and most reviews say it is 25-30. I don't mind paying the extra because I try to buy local, except for TJ Max, Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack, Saks 5th Ave, Ross and Ebay, I try to keep my money local at small stores.
