Oh I'll be dammed I don't know what to think. I had been contemplating a Renato. Got to love the comments. Sorry to comment on an old thread.

Yes. They are tied to the Mayan calendar.
In many ways I think Mink is far more evil than Lalo. Yes, Lalo is a snake oil salesman and misleads about the origins/manufacture of his product (but then again isn't that a requirement to be a "TV brand"?), but as far as I recall, he has never tried to outright defraud his customers.

What Mink has done is an entirely different level of douchebaggery.
My opinion is that lalo is a little more transparent in his douchebaggery and therefore not quite as evil as the minkster. After all, how can anyone be taken seriously that still has the likes of Mongo in their employ?

I was part of the original losers, but got out after first sorry letter. Glad I never was too deep in the stuff. I hope the new Renato will be a credit to the good of watchmaking.

screw that contact your states attorney general with proof of purchase and the printed out emails.

and file a small claims suit in your state..it would be worth the 25 bucks filing fee and money to have them served

There was a thread at Watchforums awhile ago:

http://www.watchforums.org/t484-the-chu ... ay-to-ebay

Also, via Google Images, there's a mook out there who posted some pics of his "Renato Emporium Tourbillon":

https://plus.google.com/photos/11560442 ... 5010825697

Interestingly, there are no other pictures on Google Images about the Renatoe Tourby. This thing is becoming the TV home shopping equivalent of the Marie Antoinette Breuget--apart from the fact nobody would really want to steal the Renatoe.

So that's a no. Lol

How about that Black card bullshit? Now that Renato is sold what happened to the fools that actually paid to be a part of the select few? That they spammed to everyone willing to part with a grand.

I'll go out on a limb here and guess that the Black Card members got assfucked pretty good.

He claims that the delay issue is due to a component of the movement that they have reworked to hold a 46 hour power reserve. I used to own a watch with that same movement (ST8000 from Seagull) and it held a power reserve from 42-46 hours already. How stupid does he think these people are?

Great bump. Always good to remind newbies about the types of people that sell watches on TV.

If they were acquired by MZ Berger they pickup the debt and outstanding obligations as well. Am sure it wasn't made easy and a some gave up.

Pretty obvious the guy was using these guys for at best a free loan.

There was a post here with a screen capture showing Mink bitching that he didn't get a watch he ordered from another company and someone calling him out for doing the same thing on a mass scale.

In what was perhaps one of the best examples of unwarranted celebrity gained via being on media I recall a proud new black card inductee at WG crowing that he had received one of the benefits already - a personal call from the Mink his own self (!).

Since there was no breakout covering the relative values of the benefits I suppose Berger could say that the phone call discharged 90% of the obligation. That'd put a call from Mink at roughly ten times the cost of 976-BABE.

It would be somehow appropriate.

:D

But they would have to provide support for their value assessment. Sure they would argue Mink gets a bajillion dollars as a "designer" but will have no evidence. The defendant could then show a homemade video of Mink standing in a busy intersection, squeegee in hand.
