First Auction For the Mad Hungarian!

First Auction For the Mad Hungarian!

Postby conjurer » September 2nd 2016, 1:22pm

So, let's get this fucking show on the road.

First up, a very nice Seiko:

Image

Image

Image

Ref. SKZ330K1, rose-gold tone case, very fine condition. Strap shows minimal signs of use, 200m WR, Hardlex, Lumabrite, 7S26 automatic movement. Comes with box and papers. Place bids for "Seiko". I you want a dressy diver that will have the broads licking their lips, it's this one.

Next, Diver Bundle:

Image

Which includes Invicter:

Image

Ref. 3142, relatively modest 42mm size, pretty yellow dial, 100m WR, sapphire crystal (!), very good condition, new/almost new black croc grain leather strap.

Jacques Lemans:

Image

Image

No Ref. apparent, 47.5mm case, quartz movement, comes with extra orange strap (pictured). Very good condition.

Orient Mako:

Image

Older (non-hack or handwind) version, in very fine/unworn condition. Orient may be ceasing production of these models, so an instant collectable!

These bundled watches come as shown, with no boxes/papers. Bid using "Bundle."

Seiko 5er/Nautica:

Image

Includes the famous Seiko 5er:

Image

37mm, olive fabric strap, 7S26 movement. Comes in generic Seiko box.

Nautica:

Image

Image

Ref. 1392 (?), a big, bad-ass quartz chrono, 46mm, in very fine/unworn condition. Comes w/ box, papers. Bid using "Seiko/Nautica."

Hamlton Khaki Field automatic:

Image

Image

Image

Image

Ref. H644550, 40mm of Swiss made goodness; sapphire crystal, ETA 2824 movement. Watch is in very fine (unworn according to donor) condition, with a small mark or two on clasp, possibly due to shopwear. Unsized, with apparently all links included. Comes in Hammy box, although possibly not original to watch.

Bid using "Hammy", unless you're foghorn, then use "Hamilton."

Here's a link to the rules (post 9 in thread), please read before bidding:

viewtopic.php?f=152&t=34781

The auction will run until next Friday, 9-9-16, ending at 8:00PM Pacific time. The proceeds of this auction will be sent directly to WL Mad Hungarian via Paypal. Thanks for looking, and happy bidding!

Query, query here, sir!

The Angry Goulash has a gofundme thing-a-ma-jig set up I believe.

Since Gofundme accepts, like, real world credit cards in addition to paypalme can we bid on a wartch and, if successful, use a normal credit card to pay directly into gofundme rather than that bottom-feeding-scum-sucking payment scheme you're so inexplicably attached to?

Hunh?

If so, 200.00 on the hammy.

Excellent first bids, gentlemen! An added bonus: a free Parnis MM homage comes with the Hammy. Also, here are a couple of pics I just took of Murphy:

Murphy not for sale at this time.

I was advised by Codguy here: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=34705 That gofundme charges 9%, whereas Paypal is only, I think, 2.5%. I prefer paypal in that it's easier for me to account for, and sew fourth. However, if any member wishes to do the gofundme deal, I have no issue with it. As I have no access to any of the gofundme financial stuff, we'll go on the honor system.

Therefore, Hawk's bid of $200 on the Hammy stands. If anybody else wishes to go this route, please advise me in the thread.

That won't be an issue. If I win at 200.00 I'll remit 219.80 so that 200.00 net shows up.

I hope it goes higher than 200.00. But at any rate I'll adjust my payment such that Angry Goulash receives the full amount.

You can use Yan as a reference - she was nice enough to take bank wire transfer and I've been on the outs with paydick for long enough I've learned how to cover any shortfall.

Damn nice Junghans by the way. Alain did me a solid. I wish Yan would get back into the wartch business if the Junghans was any indication.

Edited to add: That still means the hammy is at 200.00

The method I employ to get 200.00 into MH's account does not apply to the bid amount. Hence 201.00 with paypal would still beat my bid.

Not to be critical but the Novocaine is wearing off right now and I could really use some line breaks between the sundry bundles.

But, if I'm correct that the olive drab strap Seiko and whatever is in the picture next to it is a discrete bundle ...
AND
I didn't miss somebody already bidding more for the bundle.

Then 100.00 Net. For the olive drab strap Seiko.

...last bid until the Oxycodone wears off.

Bids thus far:

Seiko: $50, Temerity

Diver Bundle: $80, svaglic

Seiko/Nautica: $100, Hawk

Hammy: $300, Hawk

Please note the above descriptors and try to use them when bidding, especially late night when you're jaked--this will prevent misunderstandings and/or fistfights.
