I Heart Tokyo

I Heart Tokyo

Postby artman » March 26th 2018, 5:36pm

When I go on vacation I need to see bright lights, trains, giant buildings and yes, a Starbucks, if possible. Because I live on a tropical island I say screw the beaches! Last week we visited one of my favorite places in the world... Tokyo.

And of course some badass watches.

I only show you a photo of myself, not because I look especially spiffy, it's because it frickn snowed and, we were pathetically unprepared for cold weather and we froze our asses off! Fortunately for the dollar store we found cheap gloves and hats. Also spring arrived on the second day of our trip warming up to a balmy 60 degrees, so we were spared from catching pneumonia. Cheers!

What no Invictas over there? Just kidding, it looks really interesting. Whats up with the people wearing masks at the train station? Germophobes or air pollution? Thanks for posting it Art.

No Invictas or fake watches to be found anywhere there, unlike other Asian countries. And, unlike other Asian countries, the air quality in the city has never triggered an allergy attack, which probably means most of the people wearing the masks could be germaphobes.

Great pictures. I've been about 25 times and love it. I was always on business but occasionally added a few days for vacation.

I've been there a few times, and it's simply amazing that a city of that size stays as clean as it does. (I've always carried a drool-towel with me for when I come across the GS, KS and OS display cases; drool cleanup is favorably looked upon by shop owners, especially the ones wearing masks because they're germ-o-fobes. For these shopkeepers, I also carry a bottle of Lysol Germ Destructor, Sukiyama Hand Sanny-Tyzer, a cassette of Theremin Mall Muzak Hits, and Johnson & Johnson gen-u-wine Swiss roober danny glovers...) I gotta lotta drool onboard, sew eYe does...

P.P.S. - Wooden that be the ¥en Store, since urine Japan? They already have a built-in company motto: "I've Got a ¥en for the ¥en Store." Dayum, but I missed my cawling...witch is kewl, scents eYe couldn't sea nuthin' anyway.

Here's a shot of the aforementioned dollar store. FYI, cool store, but no cheap sweaters there.

Wow, how cool is that? We have a DAISO store in Sandy Eggo -- well, actually more like Mira Mesa -- and Missus Mort loves to go shopping there for cosmetics, and sew fourth. Two Kool four skool!! 8-)
