Watchlords is 8 years old

And still going strong due the members here. The almighty watchgeeks is dead and buried, watch talk forum is a shadow of the past as is xmt now called the lizard lounge or something. Desk diver forum and watch bros are gone as well. The hater site lives on.

Well done, one and all.

Love in that Skelton post how he claims he "has a life" because he doesn't spend time bashing brands. No - he pimped some of the most overpriced junk imaginable to old people and the simpletons that watch home shopping networks. Now he is out of the business, a three-time loser.

We're still here. Probably because we bash brands that deserve to be exposed. Hey, Jimblo - tell us who the good guys are again?

6-1/2 years for me (time flies when you're a hater). Shame it took me 18 months to find the joint, but glad I did.

Happy birthday Founding Members!

What are the Watchlords? Haters, yes. But also smart, tough collectors who bow to no one. If the truth is to be found, the Watchlords will find it. If that means broken Geek bodies left by the side of the road, looking like Beetle Bailey once the Sarge finishes beating the shit out of him, so be it.

To all the fine Lords and Ladies, including those who have passed to the WIS Valhalla, I hoist a flagon of mead to your honor.

7 yrs./ 2 mo. spent in the company of some of the finest haters, curmudgeons, opinionated sons of bitches, blatherskites, louche fellows, downright bastards, philosophers, ladies, gentlemen and boon companions on the face of Odin's green earth! Hail Watchlords!

Who da thunk it? The way it started I didn't see it lasting, but then I was going by my previous experience with watch forums. This place has broken the mold as far as I am concerned. I don't think you'd find a better group anywhere. Even as diverse as we are I have enjoyed meeting all those that I have had the chance to. Many have come and gone, a few more noteworthy than the rest, for both good and bad. So here's to those who have departed, and all that still remain. Salut.

I've been here five years now, and one constant has always stayed with me: I'm very proud to be a member in good standing of this site. But why proud? you may wonder. The answer is simple: not just anyone can join this site and keep up with it. You make it through the first couple weeks, great. A couple months? Yeah, okay. A year? Sure, that's certainly better than the average among our applicants. But it takes something special, a kind of savvy and depth of feeling when it comes to your watches that allows you to stick around for a couple or three years, and not just surviving, but thriving here. Not many watch fans, aficionados, experts or even WIS can "make it" here, let alone sustain themselves here for the long run, and that's why I'm so proud to be a Watch Lord.

Happy Birthday, fellow Lords! Keep kickin' ass and takin' names!! 8-)
Okay, so I was wrong... http://thewatchforum.net/forum/index.php ...but I was never so glad to be incorrect... ;)

Been here since Day One (or maybe Two).

Don't contribute much, but do check in virtually every day. Glad to be a part, and thanks to Alain!
