Perfect size, and it looks great.

Bit of a pity that it's got some chow mein under the bonnet, but then again, so do most things Timex these days.

I utterly and totally despise those little pricks who left comments saying that the watch looked cheap and of poor build quality. Really? Really? You bloody-fuck 'experts' can all tell that just by looking? Well, chuff me, perhaps I need you glorified WG's to come and tell this poor, ignorant choad what he should/shouldn't buy, no? Oh well, their air is just too rarified to ever lower themselves to come visit us "haters," so I'm counting my blessings.

For my part, Seagull is a very good bet, though Shanghai, too, is a good candidate, as they've got quite a bit of experience building movements thin enough to fit in the 10mm case advertised by Timex. Either way, I think it's going to be an excellent product, one that will perform far better than the idiotic wannabe Karnack's at wormandwood would have us believe.

And, YES, it looks like this particular semi-Prince of Darkness is prolly gonna get one of these, assuming I don't go broke between now and then...

They have used Seagull in previous automatics.

Meef, flean. Lots of other choices also powered by Seagull for quite a bit less than $200.

I have to admit - Timex did a great job with the dial on that one. Looks straight out of the late 1940s to me. Cool looking piece.

That watch is totally 1950s to 1960s retro style. Nice dial, I believe that it is timeless, (no pun intended).

Slap a Speidel black Romunda on this and it's 1967 all over again!

On a Speidel, it would be quite close to the Timex worn by Dirty Harry:

I just do not understand why you fellows are getting all damp and dreamy-eyed about this Timex. Retro style is OK, but nothing special - and to my way of thinking, not much of a bargain at $200, Seagull or no Seagull. I'd much rather have an actual vintage piece at half that.

I ordered one and it just got here. Just like getting a brand new watch out of a 60's time machine. Under 200 with a discount (not from Timex) and ,though it is more than an "actual" vintage it carries less headaches. I used to be a fan of actual vintage but to get one in good condition and then to pay for a decent service (most always needed) ain't cheap either. And even then the old movements can be ornery. The hunt is on for the Romunda now. Love me some living in the past.
Now if you'll excuse me I have 5 bucks in my pocket so I'm going to fill up the tank and grab some lunch

Dang, that looks pretty nice. When the one I ordered comes in, I might keep it and send my brother some smoked salmon or some fucking thing.

I don’t know what there is about this time of year, but I always get the urge for vintage watches. Maybe because I got my very first watch in November 1959. It was a Timex.

According to the Brain Trust at WUS, the movement appears to be a Sea-Gull ST-6:

Perhaps A-T can chime in on this?

Not big enough for me and my fragile ego :)

It almost is. 36mm is nice. 34mm is just a bit pinched for me and my fatted, badly nourished wrist. But I love that they're making it.

Looks like a Sea-Gull, but it's not the basic ST-6, as the ST-6 is 11.5''' in diameter, and this movement's tiny - looks like it isn't more than 20mm, which would make it a Sea-Gull ST-6 D1.

I'm hardly any good with Chinese mechanical watches, and therefore - as uneasy as it is to admit it- I'm largely ignorant of them. Well, maybe save for the Sea-Gull 1963 Air Force Chronograph, which I'd actually like to have.
