What's that one watch...

What's that one watch...

Postby AJC » September 9th 2017, 10:06am

...that you grab at the last second to adorn your wrist when you're running late and need to get out the door?

Mine would be the Citizen "Excalibur" or whatever people call it... Probably because it's sitting on the window sill soaking up sun with my other solar powered watches instead of hidden away with the rest of my collection. Also, it looks good and goes with almost anything.

Finally it has an expanding dive suit clasp in case I eat too much while I'm out and gain 30 lbs. The belt goes up a notch and the watch does too.

If one is to grab it while running late that would suggest there's no time for the ritual of the setting of the time.

So perhaps my one unapologetic quartz:

Grab and Go means it must already be running and that usually means quartz to me.
It has been this one for the past year or so since I got it:

But if this automatic is set and running then this one trumps that quartz one:

But then this quartz one just joined the collection yesterday so it could be in the running to take over that position:

Usually a quartz. Lately seems to be the Bulova or Alpina Startimer, used to be the Tuna.

Post got me to thinking. So I pulled this one back from the for sale list. Was looking at some more expensive quartz dive watches as a "grab and go" and it hit me that I don't need another. This one is fine for the purpose and is paid for.

These are my grab and go's, all automatics, but it doesn't take much to change the time.
