What are the best watches under $2k

What are the best watches under $2k

Postby abduksion » July 10th 2017, 1:30pm

Members of my family and I are going on a mini trip two weeks from Saturday and there will be some
watch and jewelry stores I'm hoping to find a new watch or watches under the $2k mark. But which
brands are good? Now I don't know what will be available but I want to stay between lets say $750-1,500?
I've never felt like I truly belonged here and I believe it's time I move on.

C'mon man!

You know and can research these subjective purchases on your own. You can do it.

I'd perhaps save a little more and get a nice Toodor.

I wouldn't buy while traveling. If you insist on buying from an AD (not a bad idea at all) there are plenty of options less than a 2 hour train/bus ride from home. Keep it close in case you need after sale service.

That's true but the more I think about it the more I may just get a new laptop I could really use one
since mine is falling about plus I still have a Gift Card to a local Jewelry store so I'd rather use that
and just cover the rest of the cost. Its not much but I know the owner so I could probably workout
a deal with what I find to my liking.

Under 2 grand? At an AD? Where? Is it a lumberjack discount?

I've noticed deep discounts on ML's at a few airports that I've been to recently. Not too sure about the future of that company, but they sure make some nice watches.

I never bought a watch at an airport. Sounds like a fly by night operation.

Why buy on a trip. If you buy at a brick and mortar, go local for the CS.

Better yet, research and buy used and well loved online.

WAY too many options in the price range you quote.

If and this is a big IF I can't find anything I like I'll will likely take
that money I was gonna use towards a new watch towards a new Laptop.
But If I could get both that'll be great.

Unless you are doing some major work with CAD or Photoshop, any $500 laptop with 8GB RAM and an SSD will do.

At $2k or under, I would suggest the Seiko SBDX017 MarineMaster as one of the finest watches available for that kind of money.

Of course, depends what kind of watch you're looking for. I actually find the MM300 to be fairly versatile with its 20mm lugs and upscale finish - certainly not for a dressy occasion, but for everything else.... :okk:

Aside from that, I would look at Hamilton, Sinn, Junghans, Ball, and Marathon.
