Breitling's Colt Skyracer over priced for a quartz?

Postby abduksion » July 4th 2017, 6:04pm

No I didn't buy it but I was watching a youtube video review on it and it got me thinking if there was any
watch or brand that made a similar look for someone like me on a so ''called budegt''? After all what makes this
$2k retail watch so expensive or better yet special? Yes you could argue well its a Breitling you dumb dumb. So
as soon as I saw it I instantly thought of the Casio MRW200H-1BV which comes in different dial colors and numerals
Ok so it as a day/date and is resin but the looks are somewhat similar, both have 100m wr light cases and bands and
both are respectable brands but here's the shocker the Casio can be had for around $15.00 on Amazon compare to the
$2,000 Breitling. Pics.

Enough for Breitling to design and produce a $2K Quartz watch. COSC on Quartz is no interest to me. HAQ is another story.

I understand what your saying but the Casio is a good alternative to a similar look. Me personal the only $2k quartz watch
Is a Citizen Campanola.

Here we go:

https://www.jomashop.com/citizen-watch-jy8035-04e.html

For three bills, much more than the Casio, and much less than the Briety, you get a watch that's probably much more accurate than the B, using atomic time to keep it to +/- a half a second a year, along with a chronograph, multiple alarms, world time, etc.

It's all in the perception. What is cheap for one, is too much for the other.

I've actually looked at the model a couple times reminds me of a poor man's Breitling Professional series of watches.

It doesn't look anything like the skyracer, but the Bulova snorkel II is a nice looking HAQ watch, you can get a beads of rice or a mesh band with it (depending on which color you choose) and if you wait for a sale you can get it for around $120.00. Watch recon has sold them for as little as $60.00 used.

If you get the Casio, you will have plenty of money left for the Bulova and still have money left over.

Maybe if you stare at long enough it does . My point was to the average watch fan who wants people to think he/she
is wearing a watch that looks like $2k then I would recommend the Casio. I do own a COSC Nvicter Speedway now how accurate
or if its even a real COSC movement is to be determined I won it on ebay for $60.00 with shipping and I do own a HAQ Bulova Sea King.

If it means anything, I actually owned the Casio model (orange dial version) and it crapped out within a year, and was completely dead and not even a battery change could revive it. It also wasn't particularly water resistant no matter what the dial stated; one dip in the ocean and it looked like it was 15 years old. There's a reason why $15 watches are $15 watches, even from Casio.
