The Ten Best Titanium Watches You Can Buy Right Now

Postby Racer-X » June 5th 2017, 11:18am

by Andrew Connor "Watchmakers are increasingly experimenting with new case materials as of late, ceramic especially. An while titanium watches have been around since the ’70s, they’re not particularly common in watchmaking today — which is a shame, given the benefits titanium offers over stainless steel. With that in mind, these are some of the best titanium options across the entire price spectrum, from tough divers to unique dress watches."

Citizen’s Prospex line is full of high-value dive watches, and the “Shogun” is no different.

And he missed any mention of Grand Seiko's "Bright Titanium" which is strongly suggestive that he couldn't find his ass with both hands.

Seiko's own titanium GS ambassador has spoken!

1998 Wenger Field Watch GMT Quartz- Titanium case and bracelet. Don't remember what I paid for it, so it must have been a bargain. Still runs like a champ and it has decent lume.

Citizen titanium uses the DuraTect process to harden titanium and uses different grades of finish based on the watch's price point.

Yup. Citi's Duratect is amazing; I had a Promaster Sky in Ti. I was the third owner, and I'll be damned if I could find a mark on it.

I have been sorely tempted by the Citizen Chronomaster Ti - 80 grams all-in including the bracelet. A660 quartz movement.

Best of all, at around 2,600.00 for a 38mm quartz watch I could possibly be categorized as "certifiably insane" which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Yeah - that guy made a John Lawton quote spring unbidden into the back of what's left of my mind:
