Watchmaker recommendations

Postby iwasbanned » April 30th 2017, 8:46pm

So I contacted Renaissance Watch Repair to have them look at my 1885 Elgin watch. They have a 13 month wait! Any one have other good reputable options? It runs, though not very well.

I used to give Central Watch in NYC my highest recommendation ... till I took a 70s Omega there and they did what anyone else would do - shrug their shoulders and offer to send it to Omega. I've seen Aaron Faber's work and it's outstanding, but it ain't ever cheap (not putting 'em down, but they simply aren't).

Best thing is you can call first, and get all the information before you decide. You'll likely find some very professional and genuinely nice people as well. My scant dealings there have always been fun (my wife has picked up vintage jewelry items).

I neglected to mention that. It sure looks pretty pristine in those pics. I like your style banned; you're always full of surprises.
